Recreational Program Assistant
The Altadore Gymnastic Club, steeped in a rich historical legacy, offers a comprehensive range of recreational and competitive gymnastics programs catering to both male and female athletes of all ages. Pioneering the gymnastics scene in Calgary in 1967 as its first Gymnastics Club, AGC has proudly nurtured Olympians and established itself as a vibrant hub for top-tier gymnastics training.
AGC stands out as a family-oriented gymnastics club, placing paramount importance on safety and mental well-being, alongside individual achievement and athletic performance. In the past two years, AGC has witnessed remarkable growth, boasting a community of over 2000 dedicated athletes guided by a team of more than 180 amazing coaches. As our programs continue to flourish, our need for additional management personnel also grows.
Primary Objective:
This position holds a management role and reports directly to the Recreational Program Director. The working hours for this role are flexible, ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week depending on availability.
The primary responsibility of the Recreational Program Assistant is to effectively organize and support the Recreation Program, which includes the Active Start classes. This role carries the responsibility of aligning its actions with the Club's overarching vision, mission, policies, procedures, and objectives, as defined by the Leadership Team.
Specifically, the Recreational Program Assistant is entrusted with various aspects related to the Recreational Gymnastics Program, encompassing tasks such as managing schedules, overseeing coaches, ensuring equipment safety and maintenance, providing supervision, offering coaching support, and more. The ultimate aim is to maintain the highest standards of program quality while achieving a strong return on investment.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Coach classes in the Recreation program as determined by the Recreational Program Director (to adhere to payroll budgets)
Assist with organizing class groups and structures
Assist with coaches work schedules, class content, and rotations
Supervising all Recreation and Active Start coaches (coach attendance, education, behavior & discipline)
Assist Recreational Coaches development through leadership and mentoring
Actively recruit and develop new athletes and coaches
Assist with the creation of brochures, memos and documents for the Recreational/Active Start programs.
Assist with the programming and accumulation of User Groups and Summer camps/classes.
Communicate with parents on class structures and changes, child’s progress, and any concerns that may arise
Communicate and work as a team with administration to ensure a high level of customer service
Communicate and work as a team with all program heads and staff members
Ensure Recreation coaches absences are approved and coverage is arranged
Ensure the gym and equipment are safe, organized, clean and well maintained
Maintain a professional appearance
Participate in a coaching or technical role in demonstrations, internal club events, and competitions as assigned
Adhere to the code of conduct for coaches and athletes for AGC, AGF, and GCG
Attend all coach meetings and club events as required
Assist with registrations and customer service where necessary
Follow Employee Handbook and stay up to date on changes
Assist in developing Lesson Plans, goals for program, theme weeks, music, etc.
Promote and support the gym by presenting a positive, professional attitude
Qualifications:
NCCP Foundations & Active Start Trained
NCCP Level 2 certified preferred
Valid first aid Certification
Excellent communication skills
Excellent knowledge of physiology, physical development and gymnastics safety
Compassionate caring individual who enjoys working with children
5-10 years of experience with gymnastics - coaching or training

WAG Competitive Coach
Altadore Gymnastic Club is looking for a WAG Competitive Coach. This position is located in Calgary, Alberta and reports directly to the WAG Head Coach. The coaching position is responsible for coaching their assigned groups, to provide a learning environment for all athletes and prepare them for future competitive programs.
This coaching position requires 12-30 working hours per week. This role is accountable for working within the club’s vision, mission, policies, procedures and goals set forth by the Management Team.
Qualifications:
· NCCP WAG Level 1 or 2 Certified
· Gymnastics Foundations Active Start Certified
· Gymnastics Foundations Trampoline Certified
· Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
· Previous experience working with Developmental Programs an asset
· Excellent knowledge and experience working with the CPP levels
· Police Security Clearance
· Desire to be a Competitive Career Coach

Competitive Trampoline & Tumbling Coach
Altadore Gymnastic Club is looking for an experienced T&T Coach for the position of Part-time T&T Competitive Coach. This position is located in Calgary, Alberta and reports directly to the T&T Head Coach.
You will be working with an amazingly supportive team. The culture at AGC is second to none. We help each other, we lean on each other, and we put our gym families first. We’re all about customer service, and helping children achieve their goals in a supportive, fun environment.
This role is accountable for working within the club’s vision, mission, policies, procedures and goals set forth by the Management Team.

Recreational Coach
Altadore Gymnastic Club is seeking experienced recreational coaches. We offer a wide variety of recreational programs for kids aged 6 months to adult. We use the CanGym/CanJump program which is designed to promote FUN, FITNESS and FUNDAMENTALS.
Qualifications:
– Minimum NCCP Foundations trained. Active Start an asset.
– Good leadership and communication skills
– Possess knowledge of physiology, physical development and gymnastic safety
– Compassionate, caring individual who enjoys working with children of all ages and abilities
