Competitive Trampoline & Tumbling Coach

 

Altadore Gymnastic Club is looking for an experienced T&T Coach for the position of Part-time T&T Competitive Coach. This position is located in Calgary, Alberta and reports directly to the T&T Head Coach. 

You will be working with an amazingly supportive team. The culture at AGC is second to none. We help each other, we lean on each other, and we put our gym families first. We’re all about customer service, and helping children achieve their goals in a supportive, fun environment.

This role is accountable for working within the club’s vision, mission, policies, procedures and goals set forth by the Management Team.

 

Qualifications:

  • Trampoline Level 3 trained

  • Gymnastics Foundations trained

  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certification

 

Schedule Expectations:

  • Hours will be 3 days a week; working with level 2-5 athletes.

Active Start Coordinator

 

The Active Start Program Coordinator is responsible for organizing  & running the Active Start (preschool) Program.

The role is accountable for working within the Club’s vision, mission, policies, procedures, and goals set forth by the General Manager. Specifically, the Active Start Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting with all matters relating to the Active Start Program (schedules, coaches, equipment safety & maintenance, supervision, coaching etc.). As well as ensuring the programs are of the highest quality with a high return on investment.

 

Qualifications:

  • NCCP WAG Level 2 Certified

  • Gymnastics Foundations Active Start Certified

  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certification

 

Schedule Expectations:

  • 20-30 hours a week in the building – Coaching, Supervising, Floating. Saturday hours non-negotiable

  • 10-20 hours a week doing admin – approximately 25% of these hours can be done remotely

  • A schedule is to be worked out with the GM and is to be adhered to

WAG Developmental Coordinator / WAG Competitive Coach

 

Altadore Gymnastic Club is looking for an experienced WAG Coach for the position of WAG Developmental Coordinator/WAG Competitive Coach. This position is located in Calgary, Alberta and reports directly to the WAG Assistant Head Coach or WAG Head Coach in the absence of the Assistant Head Coach.

This coaching position is responsible for coaching the assigned groups, to provide a learning environment for all athletes and prepare them for future competitive programs. The Developmental Coordinator is responsible for mentoring developmental coaches and overseeing the Developmental Program as a whole, with the assistance of the WAG Assistant Head Coach. This coaching position requires 40 working hours per week, primarily consisting of developmental coaching, National Stream mentorship, and administrative duties pertaining to the Developmental Program.

Recreational Coach

Altadore Gymnastic Club is seeking experienced recreational coaches. We offer a wide variety of recreational programs for kids aged 6 months to adult. We use the CanGym/CanJump program which is designed to promote FUN, FITNESS and FUNDAMENTALS.

Qualifications:
– Minimum NCCP Foundations trained. Active Start an asset. 
– Good leadership and communication skills
– Possess knowledge of physiology, physical development and gymnastic safety
– Compassionate, caring individual who enjoys working with children of all ages and abilities

MAG Program Coordinator/Coach

Altadore Gymnastic Club, home of the 2004 Olympic Champion Kyle Shewfelt and 1992 Olympian Jennifer Wood, is seeking a Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) Program Coordinator/Coach.

The MAG program at Altadore has a very important legacy. As the home of former Olympian Kyle Shewfelt, and the home gym for 83-year-old Ed Vincent who started the MAG program at AGC (and who is still training), we are dedicated to bringing the program back to its former glory. We are looking for someone with the drive and passion to make MAG great again!

We are looking for someone who has strong ideas and goals for running a program in its entirety.  Grow the program and bring back the MAG grandeur we all miss.

This is a part-time position (to start) located in Calgary, Alberta and reports directly to the Leadership Team. As you grow the program, it will grow into a full-time position.

The MAG Program Coordinator/Coach is responsible for organizing, implementing, and communicating all activities in the MAG program. This person is also responsible for coaching the assigned groups to provide a learning environment for all athletes and prepare them for (future) competition. The role is accountable for working within the Club’s vision, mission, policies, procedures and goals set forth by the Leadership Team.

Qualifications

-NCCP Level 2 certified
-Valid first aid and CPR Certification
-Excellent communication skills
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Suite
-Excellent knowledge of physiology, physical development and gymnastics safety
-Police Security clearance
-Knowledge of the adopted programs set out by AGF and GCG

Job Description and Responsibilities

-Coach MAG program and Recreation classes as determined by the Leadership Team
-Organize class groups and structures
-Planning, communication, and coaching responsibilities
-Develop coaching rotations with other Coaches
-Adhere to the program budget
-Actively recruit and develop new athletes
-Communicate with parents on class structures and changes, child’s progress, competition information and any concerns that may arise
-Communicate and work as a team with administration to ensure a high level of customer service
-Communicate and work as a team with all other Coaches and Staff
-Supervise athletes in a safe and effective manner
-Ensure the gym and equipment are safe, organized, clean and well maintained
-Maintain a professional appearance
-Participate in coaching at competitions, training camps, etc.
-Adhere to the code of conduct for coaches and athletes for AGC, AGF, and GCG
-Attend all coach meetings and club events as required
-Follow Employee Handbook and stay up to date on changes
-Create and implement annual athlete training and testing plans
-Promote and support the gym by presenting a positive, professional attitude
