About the Club

Learn What Weโ€™re About

Altadore Gymnastic Club is an organization rich in history that provides recreational and competitive gymnastics for men and women athletes of all ages.

Since 1967 we’ve been Calgary’s favourite gymnastics club.

We are a non-profit, family friendly gymnastics club where family values, safety, and mental health mean as much as personal success and performance.

Our programs are designed to safely teach each child at their own age and ability. Our large facility has tons of space for our Preschool, Recreational, and Competitive programs. Our staff takes pride in providing the cleanest, SAFEST and most organized gymnastics centre in our area.

FAQ Facility Information Q: What does your facility look like? A: Our facility consists of two separate gyms, with one lobby. Most recreational classes are in our brand new Rec Gym. Intermediate classes, T&T Classes and our InterClub train in our Comp Gym. Shoes must be removed before entering our viewing areas. Q: When does your season run? A: Our classes run from September until the end of August (not June!). Your child can join at any time. Registration & Billing Q: How does billing work? A: When you register for CURRENT classes, you pay for the first month and insurance. Fees are prorated if you join mid-month. Registration is immediate and your child will start right away. If you register for fall classes before they begin, September fees are charged at the time of registration. Billing occurs on the 1st of each month for the upcoming month. To avoid a $10 NSF fee for declined cards, please keep your credit card information current. You can update your card details at any time via our portal. A credit or debit card is required to create an account even if you want to pay by e-transfer. You will not be charged unless you don't pay by the 1st of the month. Our prices are based on four classes a month and we do not charge more for months with five classes. We prorate for days we are closed if you have less than 4 classes that month. Q: How do I withdraw my child from a class? A: Dropping a class is easy! Simply complete the Withdrawal Request Form. Please keep in mind that withdrawals take effect at the end of the month, so we ask that you let us know by the 15th. We are not able to offer refunds for partial months. No refunds after payments have been processed without a doctor's note. Q: How do waitlists work? A: If the desired class is full, you can add your child to the waitlist. We review waitlists daily and will notify you via email if a spot opens up. You will have 24 hours to respond; otherwise, your child will be removed from the waitlist, and the next person will be contacted. Please note, a credit card is required to create an account even if you are just adding your child to the waitlist. You will not be charged until you accept a spot. We work 7 days a week, so you may be emailed on the weekend. Regularly check your email to avoid missing out. If you miss the email, you can rejoin the waitlist. If we don't receive responses to three consecutive waitlist emails, your child will be removed from all waitlists. NEW: If you decline an offered spot, you can request to remain on the waitlist. You may only stay on if other families are also waiting. Q: I don't have a credit card. How can I pay? A: No problem! You can send an e-transfer to admin@altadoregym.com to pay. Remember, payment is due by the 1st of every month, and the first payment must be done at registration. A credit or debit card is required to create an account even if you want to pay by e-transfer. You will not be charged unless you don't pay by the 1st of the month. Q: Can I register now but not start until next month? A: Not for classes that are currently happening, sorry. Because of our very limited spaces available, all our registrations are for immediate enrollment (unless you are registering for classes that haven't started yet). If you want to wait until the following month, you can register a few days prior to the beginning of the month if there's a spot available. Fees & Policies Q: What is the AGF Insurance fee for? A: To comply with the Alberta Gymnastics Federation, a mandatory insurance fee and a small AGC membership fee are charged to each athlete, valid from July 1 to June 30. For 2025-2026, the fee is $60 per Recreational Athlete. This fee is charged at the beginning of July every year, or at time of registration. AGF members, except for drop-in, birthday party, and promotional participants, can be reimbursed for medical expenses from injuries during AGF activities, after their primary insurance is exhausted. Q: What does it cost? A: All our prices are listed on our website beside the class on the registration pages. Does your child want to do more than one class a week? We offer a 15% discount on the 2nd (or more) classes! Q: Do you offer trial classes? A: We have a risk-free first class policy! If your child doesn't love the class after they attend their first class, we will refund you in full, including the insurance fee. Please note - attendance is mandatory at the first class to receive a refund. Q: What is your refund policy? A: 100% Satisfaction Guarantee: If your child does not enjoy their first class, you may withdraw and receive a full refund, including the AGF fee. This request must be made within 48 hours of the first class. No refunds will be issued for withdrawals made after the second class, unless a valid doctor's note is provided. Withdrawals for other reasons will receive a credit to your online account, not a refund. No credits, refunds, or make-up classes will be given for missed classes due to illness, vacation, or personal scheduling conflicts. The AGF Insurance Fee is non-refundable after the second class. AGC reserves the right to cancel or change classes and coaches based on enrollment and staff availability. If we cancel a class entirely, a full refund will be provided. Class Information Q: What should my child wear? A: Your children do not need to wear anything special, just comfy clothes (shorts and t-shirts work fine). Some girls do wear gym suits, but that's completely optional. We have some gym suits in our Pro Shop if you want to come early and take a look. Q: What should we expect on class day? A: No need to arrive any earlier than 10 minutes before your class time. All children will wait at the gate for their classes to be called. Many groups will warm up together, and then the coaches will do attendance and break the children into their individual groups. Q: Is there room in a class for my child? A: If it says 'Register' beside a class, there's space. If it says 'Waitlist', it is full. Adding your child to the waitlist lets us know how many more children are interested, and if possible, we may open another class. Q: My child doesn't meet the age requirement right now, can they still register? A: If your child doesn't meet the age requirement at the time of registration, but will turn the correct age within 2 weeks of the class starting, you can still register, but you must call admin at 403-720-2711 or email info@altadoregym.com. Q: I don't know what level to register my child in. What should I do? A: Please read the class descriptions on the website. If you would like to schedule an assessment, please fill out the Assessment Form. Children need to be registered in the level that matches their training experience (or age if under 5). If proof of prior training is not available, we may ask for a short assessment ($20 fee) to confirm placement. Q: We've been told to move my child up to the next level. How do I do that? A: Please look online for the class you want, and fill out the Transfer Form (at the top of this page). Do not do the enrollment yourself, or your child will be in two classes. If the class you want is full, you can add your child to the waitlist on the portal. Q: How will I know how my child is progressing? A: For children aged 6 & up in our CanGym program (Beginner, Novice, Intermediate Gymnastics) and CanJump program (Trampoline & Tumbling), we do regular skill updates. You will not get emails when they complete a skill, but can see them in the portal. You will be emailed when they complete a level, and be instructed to pick up a sticker and if it's time to change levels. Q: Do you have classes for my child's age? A: Yes! Please check our website for information and ages for all our classes. Absences Q: My child has to miss a class. Do you offer makeup classes? A: Due to coach-to-participant ratios and a very full schedule, we do not offer makeup classes. Q: Should I let you know if my child will be absent? A: You can submit an absence from the Member Portal: Click on the 3 lines on the top right and select "Absences." Then click on the green "Submit an Absence" button. You cannot edit or delete the absences, so if you make a mistake, please email us! Q: What happens if I'm late to pick up my child? A: Please ensure that you arrive on time to pick up your child. Often, coaches need to start another class right away and we cannot be responsible for your child after their class time. Late pick-ups may result in a $1/minute late charge after a 5 minute grace period. This fee will be automatically charged to your family account. Q: We'll be away for a month. Do you freeze accounts? A: Sorry, due to full classes and waitlists, we do not freeze accounts. You can withdraw and re-enroll when you are back, but the class might be full. The only way to keep your child's spot is to continue paying for the spot. Other Questions Q: I have another question that isn't listed here. A: Please email info@altadoregym.com
