Restriction Exemption Program at AGC
Sept 22, 2022 Update
After getting some clarification from the Alberta Gymnastics Federation, AGC will be adopting the Restriction Exemption Program (REP).
We did not come to this decision lightly. The Leadership Team and the Board of Directors, with direction from the Alberta Gymnastics Federation, have decided that this is the best decision for our business and our community at this time.
What this means for AGC, as of September 23, 2021:
Participants - Anyone entering our facility that is 12 years old and over, will need to show proof of vaccination or negative test result *.
NEW - As announced today (Sept. 22), the City of Calgary passed a bylaw that the REP program is now mandatory for recreation and fitness facilities, and includes youth participants between the ages of 12-17.
The REP at AGC includes:
Athletes 12 and up - please email your proof of vaccination to firstname.lastname@example.org. Proof of negative test will need to be shown to your coach every 72hrs.
Adult (18 & over) drop-in participants - please show proof every time you attend.
Parents/guardians in our Parent and Squirrel programs - please email your proof of vaccination to email@example.com. Proof of negative test will need to be shown at every class.
(Children under the age of 12 are not affected at all.)
Spectators - Although other gyms have closed viewing completely, we will continue to allow one parent/guardian of children 5 years old and under to watch until further notice, as long as they show proof of vaccination or negative test*, every time.
Please come a few minutes early and have your proof and ID handy.
Please be respectful of this process and our staff. Please be patient while we navigate these new procedures.
If you are dropping your children off for classes, please do not drop them off until 5 minutes before their class, ready to go . We will guide them to remove their shoes and take them to class.
We will continue to let children out of the dance studio doors (same parking lot, bay 135...has big yellow EXIT signs on the doors).
No individual should come to the facility who is experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, regardless of how mild they are. If symptoms are present, the participant/spectator will be asked to leave.
While AGC is not requesting the screening form be submitted at this time, please continue to do it at home before deciding to come to the gym.
*Proof of vaccination includes:
Valid photo identification that matches the vaccine record (only required for adults 18 and over)
Valid paper or digital vaccine record that shows name, vaccine type and date of administration
From September 20 to October 25: proof of partial vaccination (one dose) is considered acceptable as long as the dose was given more than 2 weeks before the time of service.
After October 25: proof of full vaccination (two doses) is required.
*Proof of Negative Test includes:
Tests must be privately-paid, Health Canada approved rapid antigen, rapid PCR or lab-based PCR test completed within the previous 72 hours.
Valid test results should be a written or printed copy that clearly outlines the type of test, time of sample collection, clear indication of a negative result, and laboratory that completed the test, if applicable.
Photos of a rapid test result taken offsite is not sufficient.
Do not bring completed self-tests or rapid tests to businesses due to communicable disease risk.
Tests must not be from Alberta Health Services or Alberta Precision Laboratories.
Thank you for your understanding.
